STAFF ADVISOR

Salary $ weekly + room and board


The Staff Advisor is responsible for the leadership of the camp staff residing in Clayton Hall. This person must live in Clayton full time and help establish a positive moral attitude among summer camp staff. The Staff Advisor will spiritually lead the staff through weekly worship and daily devotions. They will be responsible for creating a welcoming, inclusive community environment and fostering positive relationships among the staff. The Staff Advisor will also enforce camp rules according to the staff handbook, ensuring safety, and mediating conflict. The Staff Advisor may also be responsible for transporting camp staff in the camp van.

Minimum Qualifications
· Must be at least 23 years of age or older.
· Must have a valid driver's license.
· Has served for at least one year on a camp staff or has been actively involved as a volunteer in a camping program and has given evidence of superior achievement.
· Has proven leadership ability.
· Is mature as a person in his/her Christian faith.
· Has excellent communication skills
· Has some knowledge about and experience in counseling youth and young adults.
Responsible To
· The Director of Camping and the Site Manager.
General Responsibilities
· To accept the camp’s Mission Statement and to work toward its basic objective.
· To provide spiritual guidance to the summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall.
· To develop and give leadership to a program of spiritual and recreational activities for the summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall.
· To live in the Clayton Hall staff quarters
· To establish a positive moral attitude among the summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall.
· To create a welcoming, inclusive community environment and foster positive relationships among the staff.
· To enforce camp rules according to the staff handbook.

· To ensure safety, and mediate conflict. 
· To transport camp staff in the camp van as needed.

Specific Responsibilities
· To work with the Director of Camping in the development of an orientation training for the summer camping staff residing in Clayton Hall.
· To develop and maintain procedures for monitoring the conduct of the summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall in accordance with the “Summer Personnel and Practices” guidelines including but not limited to sign in/out sheets.
· To develop adequate social and recreational activities for the summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall.
· To post a weekly activity schedule in Clayton Hall.
· To develop adequate opportunities and programs for group worship, prayer, and Bible study for the summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall.
· To keep confidential records of summer camp staff residing in Clayton Hall as to their achievements and their difficulties for evaluation usage.
· To ensure that all such records except those of a counseling nature be made available to the Director of Camping.
· To be responsible for the accounting of the Staff Advisor budget by reporting all purchases and providing all receipts to the office secretary/registrar.
· To meet weekly with the Director of Camping to report and update activities of the week.
· To assist with Snackery duties and camper refunds as needed.
· To work with the Director of Camping, Site Manager and Food Service Manager in arranging the “Christmas in July” staff banquet & the end-of-summer staff banquet "Footprints".
· To complete any assignments as deemed necessary by the Director of Camping and/or Site Manager.
