Kitchen Crew

Salary $300 weekly + room and board

The kitchen crew is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen and dining hall.  Each member will learn the various kitchen and dining hall procedures and will rotate through each job.  The kitchen crew sets up the dining hall prior to the new camp session.  They will help prepare food for each meal, assist in serving the food during each meal, wash and sanitize the plates and utensils following each meal, clean counters, clean tables, sweep and mop the dining hall and kitchen floors, and other tasks that may come up during the summer season.      


Minimum Qualifications
· Must be at least 16 years old.
· Is mature as a person and in his/her Christian faith.
· Is willing to work hard and follow directions as given.
· Gets along with his/her peers and is willing to be a part of a team.
Responsible To
· The Camp Director and Site Manager
· The Food Service Manager (cook) in all things related to the kitchen and food service and to the Assistant Cook when the Food Service Manager (cook) is absent.
· The Staff Advisor when living in Clayton Hall and when involved in other than Kitchen related activities.
General Responsibilities
· To accept the camp’s Mission Statement and work toward its basic objective.
· To assist in all areas of food service at the camp.
· To assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen and dining hall.
· To give evidence of a joyful Christian spirit to the campers who are being served.
Specific Responsibilities
· To learn the various kitchen and dining hall procedures during staff orientation.
· To help prepare the kitchen and dining hall prior to the opening of camp.
· To assist in food preparation for each meal as assigned.
· To assist in setting up the dining hall prior to each meal.
· To assist in serving the food during each meal.
· To assist in the washing and sanitizing of plates and utensils following each meal.
· To assist in cleaning the counters and floors in the kitchen following each meal.
· To assist in cleaning the tables, sweeping and mopping the floors following each meal.
· To assist in maintaining a neat, safe, and attractive kitchen and dining hall facility both inside and out.
· To be willing to accept other camp responsibilities that may be assigned.
